Missing Michigan

Hello all! I meant to update you on Michigan earlier-but both Alie and I came down with nasty colds as soon as we got back. However, besides that minor flaw, Michigan was truly amazing. It was one of those trips where so much happens in that week that when you get home it feels as if time has stood still. After a week of constant interaction with the wonderful people also on the trip, it was a little awkward and jolting to be back at home in reality, where you see only a select few. Michigan was refreshing and fun and held adventures for both Alie and I.  Here are a couple photos from the week:

This is our go karting adventure, where alie claims she beat me, but here is the photo for proof that I'm clearly in front. Ha!
warming up by the...smoking logs and single flame after tubing.
This is the ropes course, ie the single most terrifying endeavor I've accomplished. Funny thing is, I've totally done them before, and at very young ages too. But for some reason the ground seemed to shake below and those lines seemed a little more slippery and dangerous. But I made it! Hurrah!
Spinning around on formal night, getting a glimpse of the beautiful, green, Michigan property. Young Life has the most beautiful estates.
This is alie's fake tattoo...of a cat on her belly button. She went out in a bikini with it at one point forgetting it was there, which provided some good laughs.

The whole group from BOCO

Abover are the wonderful people from boulder Colorao that went on the trip as well. If you look real close, and maybe creepily zoom a little, you can see me on the end at the right, same dress as spinny picture featured above,  holding a camera. Alie is in the very center, in the middle of the standing group, teh blonde and two people the left of Gracie who is wearing a bright red top.Youre welcome:)
I leave for San Francisco in FIVE DAYS! Aaaahhh! So much packing...
I'll keep you updated, but for now...
Keep it Classy:)
xoxo
Leah

Boca Just Got A Little Blonder

The Saturday after finals ended, we set off for paradise, aka, Boca Raton Florida. We stayed at the Boca Beach Club, which is easily one of the nicest hotels, if not the nicest, either of us had ever stayed in. Now pair this with ninety degree weather, a beautiful beach with crashing waves, and unlimited strawberry smoothies. That would sum up our vacation.
We went to the plaza in Boca for some shopping and photo opportunities. Surprised Alie was in the picture? Don't be.
Meet our inflatable shark, Walter. We're bringing him on our next vacay to Michigan. He will be the life of the party. It's funny how teenagers who are convinced they're fully grown up and inependent-(come on, you know its true) are so easily amused by crashing over waves on a giant inflatable shark. The girls who have perfect straightened hair even though we're on a beach and think they're so cool a planet should be named after them-you know the ones-got a good laugh at us, but they were totally missing out.

Leah: shirt-Urban Outfitters, vest-NYC&Co, top layer of skirt-Nordstrom, bottom layer-her basement, shoes-Alie's closet, bag-American Eagle and sunglasses-Anthropologie.
Description of this picture: You know you look good when the store employees ask if you're a model and if people stop you in the street to take pictures. The most ironic compliment I (lLeah) got was when a store employee said they had my skirt (which was assembled of dress up from my basement and a nordy's skirt) in their boutique with a pricetag of around $200. Thank God for creativity-my wallet is not that flexible if all my stuff cost that much!
After spending the following afternoon in Delray for mani/pedis and a little more shopping, we had dinner at this unique and tasty cafe called Dada's. Highly recomended. It's themed after Leonardo DaVinci (get it, Dada's?) and the menues are the trays painters use to hold paint! The outdoor seating is cozy with cool lighting and live jazz is played inside.

Leah tanning-this is what both of us did a majority of the trip as we sipped our smoothies and looked out at the waves.
Oh....this may have been another reason those girls laughed at us. What's a good vacation without awesome turtle goggles? (Carleigh-Alie's sister is in the middle)
Carleigh left, Alie middle, Leah right
We had one more delicious lunch at our resort before flying home:( Sad! Hopefully we can go back soon! (wink wink to the parents).
Tomorrow we leave for Michigan yay! Still SO much packing to do. Keep it classy readers!
Much love,
Leah and Alie

Time to meet our classy selves

Hello there dear readers! We (Alie and Leah) are both incoming juniors in Boulder, Colorado who love to keep it classy. Through this blog we will be updating you on all things blonde about our summer travels and adventures. We love fashion, photography, forensic anthropology and sarcastic humor. You'll get to know us better in the next couple months. For now, here's a brief over view of both of us and what we're doing this summer and why are blog is so awesome that reading it and following it is not optional.

Hello! I'm Leah! I love to write and play violin but I especially adore fashion. I probably spend far more time drawing clothing designs and reading about all the best designers and trends than doing my homework or those other "important things". I come from a big family; both my parents, three younger siblings and a dog. And my sisters have three frogs, but they're not family they're just gross. I never am without my high heels-which comes in handy considering I'm only 5'2" This summer on June 24 I will depart for a six week program in San Francisco studying the fashion industry. I'll take four classes: (insert the word: fashion before each) construction, design, journalism and styling. I'm pretty excited for it all, and also excited that I'll be living with my cousin Talia. I'm excited to indulge in everything San Francisco, from the huge department stores, to the cable cars, to the Giants games.
(ALIE IS A HOARDER)
Hi, I'm Al. I'm in love with men in sweaters, white cars, and naked Canadian Sphynx cats. Especially ones named Gertrude or CoCo or Mildred. I love watching shows about murders, and eating cheese sticks simultaneously. Some day I'm going to be a famous Forensic Anthropologist, so please, if you die, and have decomposed, CALL ME. The only thing I love as much as forensic science... is fashion. There's something so great about putting together an outfit that you've never worn before. I try my best to mix things up when it comes to what I wear, and I try to avoid wearing the exact same outfit. Anyways, this summer, I will be attending pre-college at NYU for 6 weeks. I will be studying Forensic Anthropology and Sociology and I'm so SO excited. It's going to be an amazing experience, that could potentially be life changing.
We will be posting about about our initial two trips: Boca Raton, Florida and Lake City, Michigan that we went on together soon and hope you enjoy our documentation of the good, the dead, and the fashionable of our summer adventures.
Keep it classy
Leah and Alie
